MP secures Youth Hub to expand employment and wrap-around support services for Stafford

Young people across Stafford, Eccleshall, and the villages are set to benefit from a major boost in local services following the announcement that a new Youth Hub has been secured in Stafford by local MP Leigh Ingham.

The successful bid follows an ongoing campaign by Leigh Ingham MP, who has raised the issue in Parliament and lobbied senior Ministers to ensure Stafford’s selection for the Youth Hub scheme.

Leigh’s constituency of Stafford will be part of the government’s second wave of Youth Hubs. The national initiative is backed by a landmark £2.5 billion government investment designed to deliver joined up support services for 16-to-24-year-olds.

Youth Hubs bring together vital services under one roof to help young people navigate the transition into adulthood and the workforce. It means local young people will have direct access to employment support, skills training, and wider services to get them into employment – all in one place.

The rollout of the second wave of Youth Hubs will involve close collaboration between central government, local authorities, and community partners to determine the best location and specific services for the Stafford area.

Leigh Ingham, MP for Stafford, Eccleshall, and the villages said: “I’m a firm believer that young people can achieve brilliant things if the right opportunities are available.

“Securing this Youth Hub is a really important part of my mission to expand opportunities for young people – helping them access support and resources to get into work. But it’s just one piece of the puzzle, and I’ll continue to campaign for – and with – young people until we have better youth services and educational opportunities too.”

Leigh Ingham MP has a strong track record of supporting local young people, having launched a dedicated summer school, run a youth focussed jobs fair, and securing significant funding for Stafford College and local schools. Notably, the MP helped Stafford College secure millions of pounds worth of investment as part of its new status as an Advanced Manufacturing Technical Excellence College.
